Vancouver food bank seeks solutions to end hunger

When the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society was established in 1982, its founders expected the organization to fill a temporary need following an economic recession. Jean Swanson, a long-time Vancouver antipoverty advocate, recalls attending the opening of one of the first food banks in the city and hearing an organizer say, “This is just going to be for a year or two, and that’ll be the end of it.” Read more
